Spotting Fake Juicy Couture Labels

Label Information

a. Cut vs. Uncut: Many sellers purchase their Juicy from Sample Sales and department store “seconds” like Off 5th (Saks 5th), Last Chance or The Rack (Nordstroms), and Last Call (Neiman Marcus). In order to prevent full sale retail returns, these stores identify the discounted items, by cutting the labels, marking through the logo with a permanent marker, punching a metal rivet through a discreet part or writing a series of numbers inside a pocket of a bag. If a seller says “the way you can tell my item is authentic is because the tags are cut” this may not be true! How difficult is it to cut a tag?

b. The Evolution of Juicy Labels: Juicy Couture labels come in many shapes and sizes. When looking for the real deal, it is important to be able to identify the shapes, colors and size differences of the labels, and know a little about which labels should be attached to which items. I personally have seen five different generations of Juicy labels. These are attached to the authentic velour, terry cloth, thermal and fleece tracksuits.

1. The first Juicy Couture label was a small 1 inch square of white fabric that simply said “Juicy” on the front and “Made in the Glamorous USA” on the back. If I can find a photo, I will post it! These are very hard to find, as they were at the very beginning of Juicy, before they got picked up by the big department stores.

2. The second generation Juicy label was a long rectangle that said “Juicy Couture” and “Made in the Glamorous USA with the size to the left bottom and nothing on the back. These were ALL WHITE.

3. The third generation Juicy Couture labels began to show the size differences with colors. They had the crest in the middle with “Love P&G” and “Made in the Glamorous USA” and the colors were P (petite) is bright pink, S (small) is orange, M (medium) is tan, L (large) is light green, and XL (extra large) is light blue.

4. The fourth generation Juicy Couture label came about with the spring 2006 line of terry cloth. They kept the same color scheme, but changed P&G to G&P.

5. The fifth and latest generation of Juicy labels are shown below! They will only be on the Spring 2007 and newer Juicy sweats! They say "Made in America of imprted fabrics." From what I have seen, Juicy no longer says "Made in the Glamorous USA."

6. Other Juicy Couture Labels: Most of the fur, silk, handbags, parkas, accessories, belts and jewelry have different labels than those I described. None of these items are made in the glamorous USA, so none should say that on the label. Most have a long pink label that says “Made with Love P&G” or “Have a Juicy Day Love P&G”. Some have a very thin plastic tag sewn onto the label saying “Made in China” or Vietnam, so on. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE ITEM IS FAKE!

Hello all Juicy Lovers

Due to my love for Juicy Couture, I thought I would start a blog to share with everyone who also loves Juicy. I will provide information about Juicy products as well as how to spot fakes.
There are so many people selling fakes on ebay and other sites. Please stay tuned as we start working on this blog.
